Ingredients

  • 2 cups fruit juice (e.g., watermelon, cranberry, or orange) preferably cold
  • 1 cup vodka choose a good quality vodka
  • 1 cup fresh fruit or fruit chunks such as berries or mango, optional
  • 1 tablespoon honey or simple syrup adjust to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes or as needed for desired consistency

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Measure out the fruit juice and pour it into your blender.
  2. Add the vodka to the blender with the fruit juice, ensuring an even mix of spirits and flavors.
  3. If using fresh fruit, chop it into smaller pieces and add to the blender for extra flavor and texture.
  4. Drizzle in honey or simple syrup to sweeten and balance the acidity of the fruit juice.
  5. Add the ice cubes last, filling the blender about halfway to create a thick, icy mixture.
  6. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and slushy, about 30-60 seconds.
  7. Stop the blender and check the consistency; add more ice if you want a thicker, firmer slushie, then blend again briefly.
  8. Once the mixture is evenly blended and has a vibrant, icy appearance, pour it into glasses.
  9. Garnish with fresh herbs like basil or a slice of fruit for presentation and added aroma.
  10. Serve immediately with a straw or small spoon, and enjoy this cool, spirited treat.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a slice of jalapeƱo or a sprig of fresh basil to the blender for bold flavor variations.
