- Pour the cold water into the blender and add the ice cubes.
- Add the vanilla extract or scraped vanilla bean seeds to the blender.
- Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and slushy, about 30-40 seconds. You should see a thick, icy texture with no large ice chunks.
- Stop the blender and check the consistency. If it’s too thick, add a splash more water and blend briefly to loosen it slightly.
- Pour the vanilla slushie into chilled glasses. It should resemble a creamy, icy beverage that is soft enough to scoop with a spoon.
- Enjoy immediately with a straw or spoon for a cool, refreshing treat.
Notes
For an extra creamy texture, blend in a small splash of milk or plant-based milk. You can also add a touch of honey or sugar if you prefer it sweeter.
